The New Nissan Sunny

Using the famed Nissan Sunny name, this new model will go on sale first in China in January 2011 and then progressively across 170 countries worldwide under different vehicle brand names.

Nissan continues to flesh out its sedan lineup, introducing the "Nissan Sunny" at the 2010 China International Auto Show and confirming that the car is coming to the U.S. at some point. The compact Nissan Sunny is smaller than the Nissan Altima and is designed to be more fuel-efficient.

The Nissan Sunny will be equipped with a 1.5-liter four-cylinder engine connected to a CVT. Nissan has not yet released any technical specifications on the car.

The Nissan Sunny was first introduced in China in 2003 as the first locally built model from the Dongfeng Nissan partnership.

Dongfeng Nissan launched the latest generation of the Nissan Sunny sedan earlier today at the Guangzhou Auto Show and made way for the future Nissan Versa sedan in the USA if you believe the rumors. In the Chinese market it is expected that the Sunny will become Nissan’s compact sedan whilst the Nissan Tiida will become the line up’s compact hatchback and thus won’t be available in notchback sedan form as before.
